Fire Alarm Installation Technician (Webb-Murray)

Webb-Murray, a Total Safety Company, is looking for an experienced and licensed Fire Alarm Installation Technician to work in multiple client locations . Must be self-directed individual capable of working with minimal supervision. Excellent communication skills- both written and oral; enthusiastic team player; intermediate computer skills.

High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.

Fire Alarm License is preferred.

Two or more years fire systems experience in the protection, petrochemical, or oil refinery related industry preferred.

Responsible for managing fire alarm projects on-site. Work independently on routine projects with limited supervision. Oversee and ensure the proper completion of work when performed and assisted by assigned helpers.

Read and analyze drawings, specifications, software/systems programs and operational product manuals for fire alarm and/or other related documentation for the purpose of determining the efficient installation and operation of new or upgraded fire alarm systems/subsystems.

Install, diagnose and repair/replace conduit, wiring, and devices for both analog and conventional control panels for new or upgraded fire alarm systems/subsystems.

Prepare, maintain and submit documentation, correspondence and paperwork, manage parts ordering and usage, commission systems prior to final acceptance, and make up record drawings (as-built) for the purpose of ensuring that the projects are satisfactorily completed and within Local/State/and Federal codes, regulations and specifications.

Prioritize workload and operate within a defined budget to ensure customer and employer satisfaction is delivered.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and supervisors.

Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role by enrolling or participating in meetings, workshops, training and seminars.

Flexibility is required to adapt to changing work priorities, meeting deadlines and schedules, working independently and with interruptions, and complying with various requirements.

Maintain regular, consistent, and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance, and adherence to relevant health & safety procedures

Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the company.

Salary is commensurate with experience. This is an exempt managerial position and is therefore not subject to overtime.

Employee Benefit s include relatively standard Medical, Prescription Drug, Dental and Vision insurance coverage on a cost sharing basis with the company, wherein Total Safety pays approximately 75% of the cost for employee coverage and for dependant coverage. The medical program is a part of a PPO Network, but also allows the employee to select vendors outside of the network at an increased co-payment amount. A voluntary program of group term life insurance (and AD&D) is also available to all employees. The employee pays the entire cost of this coverage, if selected. The company pays for all administrative costs under the 401(k) Retirement Plan.
