Part-time positions available working 24 hours or 16 hours per week on the day and evening shifts. The Waiter/Waitress is responsible for taking orders, setting, serving, and clearing tables within the Lindner Center of HOPE dining room. The position is also responsible for serving at banquets within LCOH whenever necessary.
Major Duties and Responsibilities: Prepares tables for dining by following established cleaning guidelines. Helps patron's select menu options by making recommendations, explaining daily specials, answering food ingredient and preparation questions. Enters all food orders electronically to ensure order accuracy of patient and dining room guest. Understands diet modifications and special nutritional needs. Builds patient trays according to preselected menu choices. Serves food and beverages following established guidelines. Recognizes food quality to ensure the highest quality products are served to patients, guests and staff. Maintains the dining experience by refilling beverages, removing courses as completed and clearing soiled utensils. Checks with patients to ensure they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems. Stocks service areas with supplies such as coffee, condiments, food, tableware and linens. Maintains floor stock on all patient care units and in other select areas of the center. Maintains proper sanitation of work area and performs additional cleaning assignments as designated. Other reasonable duties as assigned by management.

Position Qualifications:
Must have basic hospitality and service skills. May be required to make salads and sandwiches and assemble desserts. Must have prior service experience and be able to demonstrate food knowledge. Must have experience operating a POS system. Must be professional, polite and reliable with proven customer service attributes.

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift and transport food products weighing up to 20 lbs. May be exposed to heat and humidity and cold during food preparation. Will have periods of constant standing walking, stooping, and lifting while serving patients, staff and visitors.
