NAES Corporation, a leading provider of 3rd party O&M services to the Independent Power Industry, is currently recruiting for a Warehouse Technician for initial staffing of the Plainfield Renewable Energy facility in Plainfield, CT.

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Warehouse Technician is responsible for the purchasing functions of the plant. Administers the plant's inventory program and identifies the need for improvements and increased capabilities. This position assures that the inventory of parts and equipment is complete and accurate.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

Maintain records of all fixed assets and purchase requisitions and obtain all necessary signatures.

Deal directly with vendors to place orders and follow up on deliveries. Receive, store and issue all items, materials and equipment ordered by purchase order or furnished by a contractor.

Assure all received items are properly inspected, accounted for, documented and stored.

Implement all purchasing and inventory management programs and procedures.

Coordinate with the appropriate supervisors to obtain personnel for repair and maintenance. Maintain and utilize MP2 for inventory control purposes.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

This position operates from established and well-known procedures, performing duties under general supervision. Decisions are made within prescribed operating procedures and guidelines. This position encounters regular, recurring work situations of moderate complexity.

The Warehouse Assistant must maintain a professional, courteous relationship with vendors, work in a safe manner, and be in compliance with all environmental permits at all times. This position must effectively communicate information to plant management relative to the purchasing process, condition of the warehouse and availability of material.

All employees have the responsibility to both the customer and their co-workers to do the job right the first time and to ensure the customers' needs are being met.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

The Warehouse Technician reports to the Plant Administrator and cooperates with all plant personnel relative to the purchasing process and inventory control.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Physical requirements may include: working on feet for extensive periods, requiring stair and ladder climbing; and routinely lifting 75 pounds. Protective equipment such as hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection and high voltage protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties. Work with hazardous materials may be required.

WORK CONDITIONS

Position may require extended working hours with the possibility of weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, work load and plant conditions.

All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes pre/post employment physical examinations and drug screening.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the area of assignment as would be acquired in four years of high school.

Three years purchasing experience required.

Experience using computerized accounting and inventory control systems is required.

General accounting experience is highly desirable.

Two years experience in warehouse work to include shipping, receiving and inventory control is desirable.

One year experience with a mechanical trade is desirable.

Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
