Weston Solutions, Inc. is seeking a professional engineer with at least 5 years of project management experience. The ideal candidate must possesses the ability to communicate clearly with clients and project teams, possess a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and budget expectations, and be comfortable managing projects of different technical types from water sampling to engineering design. Technical expertise in at least one of the following areas is desired; sediment quality, aquatic toxicology, or natural resource management. Familiarity with ports and their issues is preferred, with a potential to advance into program management for the right individual.
The position is responsible for day to day project management including: supporting the preparation of proposals; development of project scopes, schedules, and budgets; compliance with contractual terms; development of a quality pledge to clarify the client’s needs, active communication with the client regarding technical progress and the status of the schedule and budget; timely and accurate invoicing; coordination with Weston’s resource managers to assemble the right project team; leadership of the project team to understand the client’s needs; management of scope changes, identification of development opportunities for project technical staff; compliance with purchasing requirements; project closeout activities; ensuring the maintenance of technical communications and business files; reporting variances from plan; appraising impact of variances; recommending corrective actions; preparing declarations of revenue; and participating in professional activities for the purpose of career development.
B.S. plus eight (8) years of experience, or equivalent. M.S. plus six (6) years of experience, or equivalent. Ph.D. plus four (4) years of experience, or equivalent. Experience demonstrating progressive increase in financial/supervisory accountability and authority. Adheres to corporate sense of risk management protocols. Leads by example. Registration/Certification: Registration/certification if required by law or by professional standards for practice of profession. Financial Accountability: General guideline for Annual Project Net Revenues Managed is approximately $500,000.
Technical strengths in a relevant field (e.g., geology, civil engineering, biology, chemistry) and professional license, if applicable. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
