This is a design job and non-technical, although knowledge in HTML, CSS, and Javascript Effects (i.e., jquery/mootools/prototype) are helpful.

Position Summary:
We are seeking an energetic, creative, and resourceful UI designer to help expand the site’s feature set and functionality. This is primarily a design position, however experience with HTML, CSS, and Javascript (i.e., jquery, mootools, prototype, etc.) is a plus. You will be working under the direction of the President and Senior Designer in a small team and fast-paced environment. Accuracy and completeness are critical, as are flexibility and the ability to work on a schedule. This candidate must instinctively take ownership of projects.

Responsibilities:
Continuously drive towards a superior user experience using novel design concepts

Construct prototypes, storyboards, and mockups to effectively communicate interaction design

Deliver a complete user interface to the UI development team, including visualization and graphics design

Work closely with the marketing and product management team to understand user needs, evaluate product success and define the next steps for improving usability

Conduct usability testing and factor results into the next iteration of UI design

Qualifications:
3+ years previous UI experience

Bachelors degree in a related field is a plus

Expert knowledge in Photoshop, Illustrator, or Fireworks (All UI will need to be developed in Fireworks)

Web 2.0 design sense: clean and clutter free design with high usability and navigation

Demonstrated expertise in page layout, graphic design, and user interaction design
ensuring the consistent visual presentation through UI design principles

Ability to take creative direction and work with other designers to develop feature sets

Ability to create static designs that include graphical representations showing developers how JavaScript effects and Ajax will work

Outstanding typographic skills

Some knowledge of HTML and CSS

Have self-motivation and detail-oriented mindset

Good written and verbal communication skills

The curiosity to innovate
