Vistronix, Inc. is actively seeking a full-time, skilled Web Application Developer (3-5 years’ experience) to join our technical team in Dallas, TX. As a member of our team, you will work with our Senior Web Developer and work within a dynamic group of IT professionals providing application development, systems administration, and infrastructure development and support to our client. Our story behind this position is we have 300+ legacy databases that rely heavily on Lotus Notes and we need someone who can port these applications to the intranet . SharePoint is slated to come online in early 2014 so that will be the preferred experience we are screening for. We recently migrated to Microsoft Outlook via Office365 as our e-mail application and due to future plans for Cloud Based Email and Collaboration Suites, Lotus Notes databases will be phased out. However, a significant number of users continue to use these Lotus Notes-based applications so we need someone who has the ability to examine the current function they provide and code that utility into front-end web tools/applications. Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate is someone who possesses a decent understanding of Lotus Notes. One can expect all high priority Lotus Notes databases to be converted over to the Web or other workable system where SharePoint experience isstrongly suggested. We would like to find someone who can maintain the existing Lotus Notes databases, analyze user needs, and customize software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency and guiding us toward a full SharePoint implementation of these databases.
The most qualified candidates for this role will have:
Web Application Developer (3-5 years’ experience)
Experience using DreamWeaver 8/9 and ColdFusion templates
Demonstrated expertise with writing pages and sites that work in Internet Explorer
Ability to administer Microsoft IIS
Familiar with web applications that utilize Oracle, SQL or MS Access back-end
General background in end-user computer support and a willingness to use those skills to augment the help desk when needed
Attention to detail and punctuality a must
Good interpersonal, communication and team work skills
Additional experience with the following are desired but not required:
Lotus Notes administration from the server side
Prior experience with Windows-based Web Servers (Windows 2003/2008)
Support experience with Windows XP/7 and Internet Explorer 8/9
Experience with Lotus Domino or other IDE's like Eclipse
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline is highly preferred. The selected candidate will be required to successfully complete a background check.
