Within the Student Success Department, the Office of Field Experience and Career Services seeks a Field Experience Education Placement Coordinator who will employ a holistic and comprehensive approach to set up student teaching placements and internships for undergraduate and graduate students. The Coordinator advises and assists undergraduate and graduate students in the placement process and sets up student teacher placements and internships with field partners.
Individually or in small groups, counsels a diverse population of students in placement procedures and options for education placements through class visits, meetings, special events and individual conferences;
Assists with the cultivation and management of relationships with key internal and external constituents including developing, communicating with, and enhancing relationships with field sites and partners;
Collaborates closely with College deans, faculty and supervisors on the placement process
In conjunction with academic programs, visits and evaluates field sites to assure that the student experience is in keeping with the goals of the program and mission of the College;
Maintains data, prepares and updates guidebooks, forms and materials for education students and field supervisors;
Checks adherence of student teaching placements to Massachusetts education licensure guidelines for field experience;
Maintains administrative files and records of education field experiences
Minimum bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree in related field
Strong leadership and administrative experience
Strong interpersonal, problem solving, decision making, oral and written communication skills; ability to manage multiple tasks at once, organized and detail oriented
Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of diverse constituents including students, parents, faculty, administrators and practitioners
Experience in an early childhood, elementary or special education setting
Familiarity and expertise with information technology, including administrative software systems and Microsoft Office.
