The role of an ASIC Modem Engineer at Qualcomm is the specification, design, verification and implementation of digital circuits and software for wireless applications.
Individuals in this role are responsible for developing next generation cellular modems in the following technologies: GSM, CDMA, UMTS and LTE.
Solid ASIC design and verification experience including architecture, micro architecture, test planning, testbench development, and RTL design, with expertise in the following areas:
Discrete-time Signal Processing and/or Digital Communications.
Modem or high-speed DSP datapaths: digital filters, FFTs, error-correction codes, etc.
On-chip buses, cross-bars, framers/deframers and data movers, etc.
Embedded Micro-controller subsystems.
Massively parallel processors, GPUs, etc.
Hands-on experience with VHDL/Verilog is required.
Knowledge of HVLs, OOP, Testbench Architectures, is desirable.
Experience with one or more of: System Verilog, SVA, Vera .
Experience with one or more of: OVM, VMM, RVM.
Scripting and automation skills: Unix/Linux shell programming, Perl, Java, Makefile, XML.
Working knowledge of Matlab, C/C++, or equivalent is highly desireable
Software design experience and knowledge of CPU and DSP architectures is desired.
