DESCRIPTION

Gyrodata is seeking a Wireline Trainee who will be a member of the Wireline Operations division within Gyrodata and as such will be trained in operating wireline and steering tool instruments for basic survey operations.

DUTIES

Duties / Essential Functions

  • Adherence to Company policies
  • Adherence to company and client HS&E policies
  • Assist management when needed
  • Assist at wireline shop as needed (including; shop maintenance, pick up & deliveries of parts/equipment and washing wireline units)
  • Maintain wireline units from pre to post job
  • Assist Senior Engineers with tools needed to complete survey
  • Learn how to operate Wireline units and steering tools including hanging sheaves and familiarization with subs and crossovers used in job applications
  • Understand the theory of magnetics and magnetic surveying
  • Responsible for pre-job preparation of surveying equipment and wireline unit to high quality standards and to ensure pre-job logistics are complete
  • Become familiar with wireline characteristics and reheading
  • Responsible for accurate preparation of pre-job paperwork
  • Responsible for the safe and effective delivery of survey data to the rig site including;
&9702;Pre-job and on site equipment testing
&9702;Rig up for job (spot wireline unit)
&9702;Perform surveying services
&9702;Rig down of survey equipment
&9702;Post-job on site equipment testing
  • Post job shop responsibilities include;
&9702;Clean, service and label all equipment after jobs
&9702;Post-job office quipment testing.
&9702;Complete post-job paperwork and related files
&9702;Ensure all post-job files are submitted to office in a timely manner
  • Able to acquire CDL within three to six months (as needed)
HSE Function

  • Cooperate with management in promoting, developing and maintaining a safe place of work and safe working practices and in meeting statutory health and safety requirements
  • Report any work methods, plant, equipment or conditions in their work area which they consider to be hazardous and submit suggestions to improve or remedy the situation
  • Drive defensively at all times observing posted speeds and traffic signs and adjusting driving as needed to meet road condidtins
  • Prepare report for any accidents / incidents (including near misses) which could have caused injury, damage or loss of production
  • Be aware of the hazards of field and shop work. Ensure safety clothing / equipment is provided and maintain this clothing / equipment in a clean and serviceable condition and immediately report any faults
QUALIFICATIONS

Education / Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Standard active driver's license
  • Some Microsoft Windows experience (general computer awareness/experience)
  • Basic hand tool use and knowledge
Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand for 16 hours
  • Ability to sit for 16 hours
  • Traversing a staircase multiple times for up to 16 hours
  • Grasp and hold hand tools and other types of equipment
  • Be able to function mentally and physically with lack of sleep
