Performs x-ray functions for a Center and supports the activities of that Center by performing Medical Assistant
and/or Business Associate duties and assisting other personnel as directed or requested by the Head Radiographer,
Charge Nurse and/or Practice Manager.
Completion of formal radiologic technology coursework in a school approved by the Council on Education of the
American Medical Association. Must have passed an examination within six (6) months by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist or eligible for registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist. New graduates will be considered.
Previous experience in a clinic, medical office or off-site medical environment preferred.
Current and valid license from the State of New Jersey X-Ray Technician Board of Examiners. ARRT Certification preferred. BCLS certification required. Ability to use critical thinking skills (analytical, clinical reasoning, decision making, problem-solving, time management, etc.). Outstanding interpersonal, service excellence behavior and customer service skills required. Strong orientation towards the provisions of high quality, cost effective and comprehensive medical care. Ability to use effective organizational and time management skills to set priorities and respond quickly to urgent/emergent situations. Functional supervision from the Head Radiographer. Administrative and functional supervision from the Practice Manager, Staff Physician, and/or Medical Director.
Patient care and office environment. Frequent talking on the telephone. Exposure to patient care hazards, infections, puncture wounds, blood-borne pathogens, HIV related illnesses, and varying noise levels. Requires lifting, pushing or pulling of up to 50-100 pounds occasionally with frequent lifting and carrying of up to 25 pounds; considerable standing, talking, listening, walking, sitting, reaching, filing, typing, and photocopying. Occasionally requires stooping, kneeling and crouching. Hearing within normal range. Standard office equipment including use of the computer. Concentration, corrected vision and attention to detail required.
