X-Ray Tech - PT Temporary
This position will work under the direction of orthopedic providers to provide care to patients and ensure the efficient delivery of medical services. Must be capable of working with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities.
Prepare patient for examination and treatment.
Take patient history and vital signs.
Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatment, including sterilization.
Assist in casting of patients. Provide X-ray exams.
Position patient for basic radiological studies, adjusts immobilization devices and places shielding devices as appropriate.
Make adjustments to radiology equipment for regulation of length and intensity of exposure based on study performed.
Arranges for specialized consultations and appointments for testing as ordered by the physicians. Calls appropriate insurance personnel to pre-certify surgeries or tests ordered by the physician or other health care provider, which require pre-certification by the insurance.
Certified X-Ray Technician required, medical office and casting experience required, Current CPR certification required.
Ability to prioritize and organize work area despite multi-faceted task directions and interruptions. Knowledgeable of HIPAA aspects of medical records. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with patients, physicians, hospital staff, members and health plan representatives in a tactful, informed and customer service oriented manner.
Demonstrates a professional attitude and appearance.
Legible handwriting. Proficiency in keyboarding skills and experience with electronic medical records and appointment scheduling/billing system preferred.
