DESCRIPTION

Under the supervision of the Clinic Manager, the X-Ray Technician performs all general diagnostic radiographic procedures and their associated clerical functions. This person is also cross trained to fill in with other clinical functions as needed in the times when there are no X-Ray Technician duties to fulfill.

DUTIES

  • Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other patient care providers and physicians as required, and adjusts care to insure optimal outcome.
  • Prepares and utilizes all general radiographic equipment.
  • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement programs, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • Monitors and insures accuracy of medical records as it relates to the radiology department patient, to include departmental reports, charges, order entry, supplies, and files.
  • Overseas repair and maintenance of radiology equipment.
  • Enhances the professional growth and development of self through participation in educational programs, inservices and workshops. Attends agency meetings as requested.
  • Participates in meetings as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology
  • Previous experience as a radiologic technologist
  • Current licensure by State of Arizona Board of Examiners.
  • Working knowledge of computers.
  • Cooperates with other individuals to achieve departmental objectives and maintain optimal interpersonal relationships.
  • Skilled in verbal and written communications with ability to effectively exchange and convey information and receive work direction.
