Position Description & Responsibilities:
Compuware is looking to hire a z/OS Sysplex Systems Programmer to join our growing professional services division to support one of our current government customers.

Responsibilities include:
Planning, installing, customizing, and implementing software products.
Planning, implementing, and carrying out software/hardware migrations and conversions.
Performing analysis and producing management reports on software resources utilization.
Providing technical assistance to programming and operations staff.
Analyzing requirements and recommending software and hardware solutions.
Evaluating existing systems software and recommending improvements.
Performing problem determination and resolution.
Implementing external security for software products.
Implementing web server products on the IBM Enterprise Servers which provide the foundation for running web applications.
Defining hardware configuration definitions for DC’s Input/Output configurations.
Training operations staff on new technology.

Qualifications:
Required
Ten (10) years of demonstrated experience as an IBM Systems Programmer supporting the any of the following mainframe architectures: System/370 Extended Architecture (370-XA),
Enterprise Systems Architecture/370 (ESA/370), Enterprise Architecture Architecture/390 (ESA/390) and z/Architecture.
Five (5) years of recent experience supporting IBM’s z/OS and its major subsystems operating in an IBM Parallel Sysplex on system z architecture.
Five (5) years of recent demonstrated experience implementing z/OS data management, security services, system management services, applications enablement services, IBM UNIX System Services, distributed computing services, e-Business services, print services, and 64-bit z/Architecture
Five (5) years of recent demonstrated experience configuring IBM Enterprise/zEnterprise Servers very similar in scope to the ones described in this solicitation
Demonstrated experience with using IBM’s System Modification Program Extended (SMP/E) as the tool to manage the installation of software products and to track the modifications applied to those products
Demonstrated recent experience performing z/OS software version level as well as release level upgrades
Demonstrated recent experience using IBM Resource Management Facility (RMF) to measure resource utilization, to perform performance tuning and to keep z/OS running smoothly.
Demonstrated experience defining business goals for system software, such terms of things like response time under IBM’s Workload Manager
Demonstrated experience using IBM’s ServerPac is a software delivery package for the installation z/OS and other system level software products
Recent experiences in implementing and maintaining the internal software and hardware settings needed for an automated tape library and virtual tape server
Recent experience in implementing and maintaining the definition and implementation a virtual Direct Access Storage Device architecture
Demonstrated experience using IBM’s ISPF, JCL, SDSF, CLISTs, REXX execs, and TSO/E command processors to assist in the customization and usability of z/OS and program products.
Demonstrated experience customizing IBM’s PARMLIB settings to build an IBM z/OS system which meets business needs
Recent demonstrated experience in performing problem determination and resolution using IBM’s IPCS problem analysis tool
Recent demonstrated experience in defining hardware Input/Output configurations using IBM’s Hardware Configuration Definition (HCD) facility
Recent demonstrated experience in defining IBM Enterprise Server LPAR configuration using IBM’s Hardware Management Console (HMC)

Clearance
Must be able to obtain a level of Public Trust clearance for the position. Proof of U.S. Citizenship will need to be provided to be eligible for the clearance per contractual requirements.
