Serah hosting a session at Zukunft Personal, Europe's largest HR trade show
Serah, a Senior Client Success Manager at Indeed, based in Düsseldorf looks back on almost a decade of growth, change, and constant inspiration.
Serah's first encounter with Indeed as an employer was anything but planned. "I hadn't heard much about the company before. Back in 2016 Indeed wasn’t as known in Germany as it is today," she says. What sparked her curiosity was the simplicity of the application process: upload your CV, done. She heard back the same day.
From the very first conversation, I felt genuinely welcomed. The interview process had several steps, but it never felt like a process. It felt like a conversation.
Shared drive, genuine connection
Nearly ten years later, that first impression has held.
"What has made me stay for almost 10 years is that this feeling of being valued and supported has never changed. The team spirit, the openness, and the willingness to support each other are what make the real difference. Even as the industry continues to change, it’s still fun to come to work because of the people and the shared mindset of growing and succeeding together."
After nearly ten years, the mission "We help people get jobs" could easily become background noise. For Serah, it hasn't.
"Especially when working on strategic topics like the Indeed Apply Integration, I can see how our work improves the overall candidate experience. That keeps the mission very tangible for me."
Growth that goes beyond job titles
But it's not just the culture. It's the growth. Serah's role has evolved significantly over the years, from operational customer support to genuine strategic partnership with clients. Her title changed too: from Senior Customer Support to Senior Client Success Manager. A shift in name, but also in responsibility and mindset.
That culture of growth and transformation is something that has always motivated me.
For Serah, career development at Indeed doesn't mean waiting for the next promotion. It means stepping up before you feel ready. She has represented Indeed at industry events, contributed to global projects, and since July 2025 she serves on the leadership team of the Parents & Caregivers Inclusion Business Resource Group.
Indeed has supported my growth by giving me the opportunity to continuously step outside my comfort zone. From leading client workshops and Applicant Tracking System (ATS) onboarding meetings, these were situations that initially felt unfamiliar. But they're exactly what helped me build confidence and expand my skill set.
Even after parental leave, Serah was able to reconnect quickly and continue moving forward.
"That combination of trust, opportunity, and support has played a key role in my personal and professional development."
For Serah, the work has never been just about individual campaigns or projects. It's about building sustainable solutions together with clients, and creating real, long-term impact.
Shaping what comes next
One of the biggest lessons from nearly a decade at Indeed? Don't just react to change, actively shape it.
With the rise of AI, there's a lot of uncertainty. But I see AI as a teammate: something that can amplify your thinking, speed up execution, and unlock new ways of working.
The biggest shift for Serah has been moving from reacting to change to being part of building it.
Not waiting for the future to happen but helping create it.
Thinking about joining Indeed?
Serah has a clear message for anyone considering a role even if they feel they don't fully meet every requirement:
"Apply anyway. What really matters is whether you feel valued and motivated during those first interactions. If you do, you'll find yourself surrounded by colleagues who will help you close any gaps, during onboarding and beyond."
