At this time, your job may have been affected by the impact of COVID-19. If you're looking for jobs, you may be considering the best ways to go about finding the right opportunity in the current economy. Here are some tips for navigating Indeed to job search during COVID-19.
Finding jobs with Indeed Job Search
Experiencing job loss is one of the top five most stressful events in a person's life. Along with taking actions to protect your health and that of your loved ones, right now can be a difficult and confusing time to look for a job. When you’re ready, here are some simple steps you can take to empower yourself towards finding and getting a job:
1. Update and upload your resume
When you're ready to start applying, it is best to tailor your resume to each job you apply for. This is a good opportunity to highlight each of the transferable skills you have as it relates to the needs of each employer. Remember to review the job description and use relevant keywords in your resume. For example, if the job description lists that the candidate should have at least five years of customer service experience and that is true for you, put it in an easily identifiable place, like your resume summary at the top of the page.
Pro Tip: Add the #readytowork tag to your Indeed resume in the summary section. Adding #readytowork to your Indeed resume indicates that you are immediately available for employment, allowing you to match with employers who are urgently hiring.

2. Browse available careers using these searches
After you've identified your transferable skills, qualities and experiences, take some time to browse for currently-available jobs on Indeed that may be good options for you. In the "what" field, try using keywords related to your soft and hard skills such as "customer service" or "social media."
Browse jobs that are Work From Home or Remote. This will display jobs that can be done from the safety of your home. Type “remote” or “WFH” in the “what” field in your Indeed job search to view these available jobs. You can also filter by location to find remote jobs in your city.
Search “urgently hiring” on Indeed in the “what” field or look for the urgently hiring tag next to a job posting. This tag means the employer has identified they need the position filled urgently.
You should also consider emerging job opportunities as COVID-19 continues to affect how businesses operate across the country. For example, many cities need "essential" personnel such as grocery clerks, health care professionals, food and grocery delivery professionals and more.
3. Narrow your search
Once you've got a good idea of available jobs that may be a good fit with your background, narrow your search by looking for more specific job titles as opposed to keywords. You can filter your job search on the search results page either by using the left-hand filtering panel or by clicking "Advanced Job Search" next to the "Find Jobs" button. With either of these functions, you can filter your results by job type (full- or part-time, contract, etc.), salary, company, location and more.
Create Job Alerts to get email updates about new jobs that fit your criteria. You can manage the frequency and criteria of your Job Alerts through your Indeed account.

4. Explore virtual resources
There are a number of resources offered by Indeed to help your job search. These resources are all virtual, meaning you don’t need to leave the comfort and safety of your home to access them.
Indeed Live is a livestream hosted every Monday on Indeed’s Facebook Page. This weekly livestream provides topical information to people who are searching for a job during COVID-19. On Indeed, you can instantly schedule a virtual interview on your own time after passing a few screener questions. Start by searching for jobs on Indeed as you normally would. Search job titles, companies or keywords in the ‘what’ box and desired location or “remote” in the ‘where’ box. You can filter your search results by date posted, salary, job type, experience and more.
From the search results page, you’ll be able to see roles that say “Schedule an interview” near the bottom of the posting. This means the role is eligible for virtual interviews. If you find an interview-eligible job you’re interested in that also fits your qualifications, you can complete a short screener from the job posting. If you answer the screener questions correctly, you’ll be able to select a virtual interview time from the ones the employer has listed.
