Announcing Winners of Indeed's 2023 Better Work Awards

Updated September 20, 2023

A group of six employees sit and stand in a circle while conversing

From bustling urban centers to slower-paced rural landscapes, workers generally want the same things from work—this insight emerges as one of the most poignant from a recent global study¹ conducted by Indeed of more than 22,500 people. Through the ensuing mosaic of feedback, we learned that workers—despite perceived differences—are largely united by their vision of “better work.” Simply put, they desire a world of work that prioritizes opportunity, transparency and wellbeing.

Though the perceived barriers to better work differed by country, workers across the board see their jobs as a necessary tool that can, under the right circumstances, result in a better life—but not without heavy input from employers. Nearly three-quarters of respondents (74%) believe that the key to achieving better work lies in the hands of employers—a testament to the pivotal role that organizations play in shaping the future of work.

These findings build on Indeed’s extensive research into work wellbeing, conducted with the intent to understand how employees and job seekers feel at work. We believe that everyone deserves to thrive at work, but according to this year’s Indeed Work Wellbeing Report Conducted by Forrester Research², 71% of respondents reported low to moderate wellbeing at work even though the majority (85%) agree that it is important to find a company that cares about employee wellbeing.

To that end, Indeed is proud to announce the inaugural 2023 Better Work Awards, honoring the top 20 companies for work wellbeing in the U.S. Based on the world's largest study of work wellbeing and millions of employee insights, this award recognizes the companies that are prioritizing work wellbeing and building towards a future of better work.
