What does a Dental Hygienist do?

A dental hygienist is a licensed dental professional who provides preventative oral care under the supervision of a dentist. They clean patients' teeth and inspect their mouths for signs of injury and diseases. They also educate patients on how they can keep good oral health. Hygienists work closely with the dentist in a dental office. Their work is different from that of dental assistants, who do not clean or examine teeth.
