How to become a Hospitalist

Becoming a hospitalist follows the same path as becoming a traditional medical doctor. There is a long period of education starting with a bachelor's degree and medical school. After their formal education, the hospitalist will complete a residency before becoming a board-certified internist. Then, they will choose to work as a hospitalist in a hospital rather than a practicing medical doctor.
