What does a Licensed Clinical Social Worker do?

A licensed clinical social worker provides a number of services to assist those in need. Such services often begin with an assessment to evaluate a client's level of functioning. The licensed clinical social worker then provides interventions that include counseling, family support, clinical referrals and treatment for mental health disorders or addiction. Social workers are frequently employed in independent practices, by local governments, schools and treatment facilities.
