How to become a Route Driver

Route drivers need to hold a driving license and have a good driving record. In some states, this will include undergoing additional training and testing required to gain a commercial vehicle license. Most employers will require their route drivers to have a high school diploma or equivalent. Some employers specify that drivers must be age 25 or older, but younger workers are often promoted to driver roles when they have proved their reliability in a more junior position.
