How to become a Teller

To work as a teller, the following may be required of you:

  1. Start with a high diploma or GED. This should show your math competency.
  2. Earn an associate or bachelor's degree in mathematics or finance. Though, this is not a basic requirement for a teller entry-level job.
  3. Most employers would require tellers to pass a background check since they will be handling sensitive information of customers in their roles as tellers.
  4. Tellers will learn most of the rudiments of the profession like the computer and IT systems of the bank and implementation of security processes on the job.
