Pros

Good teachers, Helpful career services, Hands-on training

Burning rod was the best or should I say practice. The Instructors were very helpful with in-class work and if we had problems they would also mentor in the booth on our welding skills.

Pros

Flexible class hours, Affordable, Helpful career services, Positive environment, Good career preparation, Hands-on training

Cons

At that time there were not very many centers that were close to my hometown.

The day would start out as class room training in office practices, business machines PBX practices and all types of office settings. After about six months of class room procedures we were allowed to go into actual job sites depending on what training you selected. I choose PBX Receptionist that sent me to the VA Hospital in Houston, Texas. It was a lifetime change for me because it made me grow and mature for future experiences that would benefit me and the people that gave me employment.

Pros

Affordable, Helpful career services

Cons

Lots of childish people, you are stuck on the job corps center until you finish (there is weekend passes, but there isn't really any flexibility with that either)

Other comments

I would get up out of my dorm, eat breakfast, head to class, and get on my computer and follow the instructions that the teacher would have out for us that day. I'd learn everything from PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Bank Reconciliation, etc.

Honestly it was just fluff for me so I'm unsure. I'd already gotten Nccer equivalents training to OSHA 500. So everything covered in OSHA 10 General industry already had been covered in far more detail in NCCER.

Good combination of hands on and learning in a classroom setting. As well as learning in computer labs and a good resource to learn how to make resumes and cover letters.

A very good trade school. Both on the job training and in the class room training. This program has helped me receive a job related to my field. I would recommend.

They train you on the type of trade you want to learn in. Get you ready for the outside world. They do good hands-on. Take you out and do the work for the company.
