Chico State is a beautiful campus, definitely nature-friendly. It could use more parking. Professors are wonderful and flexible, if asked. Library was my second home.

It was great. I interned at a law firm for two years in order to receive this. I learned a lot about legal research and what it is really like to be a professional in this field. It was a difficult adjustment but very rewarding. The classes were a bit difficult but helped me in the long run.

Pros

Good teachers, Good career preparation, Hands-on training.

Cons

Your classes and clinical hours, once you are in the program, are not flexible and must be taken in a certain order and it pretty much dictates your life schedule for the 3 years you are there.

Other comments

Your curriculum includes classroom time required lecture time and also clinical time a minimum time is required. They set the hours and the times and you choose which hospital you would like to work in, space permitting. The classes are completed in a prescribed order. You move through the program with the same people you started with. You build friendships and trust with these people and some may be friends for life.

Most of it coincided with my regular, required tutor training every semester, so it was really convenient. Outside of that, I just got handed extra tasks I needed to perform as part of my work duties.

Great program, professors are all very knowledgeable, supportive and approachable. The internship gives you hands-on experience and the Associated Students own and run a non-profit legal aid center where you can intern in anything from Environmental Law to Corporate.

Everything is very hands on. There is a lot of course work. Must be prepared to work hard and long hours. A lot of money will be spent on supplies as well.
