Pros

Good teachers, Helpful career services, Positive environment, Good career preparation, Hands-on training

Cons

Can be time consuming if you have to have a job during the classes.

For a total of 30 days you go to class throughout the week and learn about how to teach every type of student and the different methods of teaching. There were multiple 1 day classes to take on different trainings for exams and then there was about 90 hours worth of online training to complete to finish out my qualifications to get my certificate.

ECAP is a good program that is owned and operated by a family of educators and former administrators. They know their business and do everything properly to train you to be successful.

Pros

Flexible class hours, Good teachers, Affordable, Positive environment

Cons

Increased hands-on mentoring for the wide range of daily classroom responsibilities would better equip new teachers.

Other comments

The training was a blessing. It was very professional and thorough. Given the demands of the job, I'd propose that the program would benefit from internship placement assistance, in classrooms that would allow a year of direct, intensive mentor modeling and immediate feedback.

Pros

Good teachers, Good career preparation, Hands-on training, Payment options from what I remember, was a plus. But my absolute favorite was the variety of lessons, teachers that we were exposed to.

Cons

There's a book about filling a bucket that used to motivate, inspire, however, it never added to my teaching, nor to my peers in terms of what is truly needed.

Other comments

There were examples of teacher's lessons and plans modeled for us, so we were always able to put theory to practice. Great books, with the exception of the "bucket" book, were EXTREMELY BENEFICIAL & PRACTICAL for the classroom and teaching necessities. Overall, my experience with ECAP was wonderful: packed with tools, learning, theory, best practices, great speakers, it was a great way to prepare for certification.

ECAP was a very affordable training service that helped me to obtain my teacher certification. The trainers are all former educators, many of whom are highly regarded in their different fields of expertise.
