Pros

Good teachers, Positive environment, Hands-on training

Cons

Not a concentrated program, it’s a generalist program

Other comments

HSU is a very open and progressive school. My program specifically had a year long internship as well as a thesis and project to complete, on top of regular classes. I appreciated the setting and most of the teachers. It is a very culturally unique setting.

Cons

Weak job placement post-graduation.

Other comments

Strong emphasis of natural history sciences while connecting outdoor field studies with lecture topics and laboratory practices. Professors are knowledgeable and passionate about the work they do, and there are many opportunities for students to get involved.
