I received a practical science education at a reasonable cost. The Indiana-Purdue University campus environment was perfect for the serious adult/married/commuter student looking for a quality education without all the social distractions students will find at traditional college campuses.

I already had Pennsylvania certification to teach both French (received from Indiana University of Pennsylvania) and English (received from Slippery Rock University graduate school). When family moved to Ohio, it was a reciprocal state that accepted my credentials but I had difficulty getting a job with two young kids, so I subbed. When family moved to Indiana, all my credits were not accepted. Therefore, I went back to school in Fort Wayne, where we first lived, and then, in Indianapolis. All of these schools had excellent programs. When I got to Texas, they accepted none of my credits. I could sub but not teach in a public school. I could teach, however, in a private school. Sorry, this does not address your question. Basically, I took credits I was forced to take. Some classes were interesting, others, not. All, of course, were insightful.
