Good hands on experience. You apply the teaching immediately in a kitchen setting. The classroom in a real life industry kitchen. You apply the skills by cooking and serving real events happening on Campus during that time. Also you get ServSafe Certified at end if course which is a state licensing service that last for 5 years. It also provides management knowledge to carry into workforce and ups your qualifications.

Good certificate, just do the online version. Not a fan of Ivy Tech. But did enjoy the certificate. Not in my recommended places to go for this training.

I love to learn in the purest, most realistic form possible and that form is hands-on training. With multiple instructors with 100+ years of combined experience, you can learn all aspects of the trait.

An overall good and easy experience you can receive the study materials through the mail and the test is a reasonable multiple choice format with a week or so of studying and about an hour for testing you can receive this certification.

Most classes are in-person. A combination of classroom and then lab room hands on. You must do the work to be successful. You must come prepared by reading the text book, reviewing the videos assigned and taking notes in your own words so you can use the instructor to explain points or processes during class time that require clarification for you. The instructor will review the material during class via power-point presentations, but this is not the full text. This is the main points, an abbreviation of the full text. You must do the prep work or you will fall behind in the lab. Lab time is your time to put your hands on the machine and practice some of those concepts or procedures swimming around in your head to help cement attachment points in a procedure. It helps it to stick, then when you read the section of the book again or re-watch the video it will make more sense. The instructors are instructors not teachers. I found every instructor in the HVAC program that I had to be helpful and seem to really care about my success. They will emphasize the main points and are a resource for you as you prepare for the ESCO certification examination.
