Great instruction and hands on training. All instructors worked in the field and understood the environment I aspired to go. There were real world discussions and advice. May be the best program in California.

Not for everyone, do the research before committing to this program because it is long and makes you do the internal work before you work with or on others.
3.0

Pros

Good teachers, Positive environment, Hands-on training

Cons

I feel that some of the professors did not give the support they should have given to the students who were paying a lot for the program. I feel that the career guidance services were not adequate.

Other comments

The program consisted of class room lecture, role playing, research papers, program presentation in class and finally for my program a Master's Thesis Project. I completed my thesis in March 2017 when it was published. I learned to do analytical thinking about problems related to Psychology and to be able to solve problems in this field. I also learned a lot about the field in which I wish to practice.

Had large student loan debt to pay off afterward

This program excelled at experiential education in practicing giving and receiving counseling. This is invaluable to your future confidence in providing counseling services. It's not just intellectual knowledge but applied knowledge.

Pros

Hands-on training.

Cons

Inconvenient class hours.

Other comments

Most of the classes are in the evening. If the classes are large, some instructors will divide the class into two, a day and a night class. Most instructors are great. I have only had one bad experience. For the most part, this is a good school.
