Good hands on labs and online projects. I enjoyed all the teachers that helped me get the certification. They worked with me one on one so that I could understand fully.

It was a very structured course. We would go through all of the prerequisites classes including; telecommunications, business 101, etc. As the course progressed we began to get into more technical subject matter.

I loved the hands on training. That was where I learned the most because I’m not a very good book learner. I do better with hands on learning then reading it from a book and taking tests.

Excellent school. School was everyday 5 days a week for 8 hours, train how to do patient care assessment on patients, the test was hard. It was nice that we all worked as a team to do patient care poo.

4.0

Pros

Good teachers, Positive environment, Good career preparation, Hands-on training

Cons

Sometimes office training took up my whole day which meant no gym time or even work

Other comments

Class room time, and hands on office time sometimes took up the whole day, but it was fun i like helping people and i like the work i was doing.A person must attend lectures and sometime head the class yourself which meant choosing a topic and knowing how to expand and answer questions related to that topic. Example: placement, or intake procedures.

It is a perfect way for inexperienced people to gain the necessary experience and its hands on work so your learning better. There is more learned when you do hands on training rather than watching a video.

Good combination of clinical and classroom time. Don’t know what cost is now. Took all prerequisites as night classes while working so that when I started hygiene program I only had hygiene classes to take for those 2 years.

Lakeland community College provided me with a background in science which was then applied to understanding the theories of respiratory therapy. They provided laboratory practicals and later clinical sites to utilize our new skills. I learned what a positive impact a proficient respiratory therapist could have on patient outcomes as a member of the healthcare team.
