Teachers are very helpful they will work with one on one if possible. What I have learned is very interesting and I would enjoy learning more if the employer would offer more training on the job. The most enjoyable part of training is everything.

Other comments

Besides the academic requirements, recruits have to be proficient in several areas considered to be "high liabilities." These subjects include firearms, defensive tactics, first aid, and vehicle operations. The high liability courses involve long and grueling days. Recruits may spend hot summer days outside on the firearms range, or they may sweat it out on the mats in defensive tactics. Due to the intensity of the training, injuries are common.

Pros

Good teachers, Affordable, Helpful career services, Positive environment, Good career preparation, Hands-on training

Cons

Didn't know whether I needed to purchase anything in advance, and what I had to fill in online said I needed the book, but I had to answer the questions online without it.

Other comments

Class was long but informative. They gave me all the tools I'd needed to teach about the book work, and then also provided me with information about renting the equipment that I will need for the skills portion of the classes I'll teach.

My academic program prepared me scholastically through classroom work, hands-on experience in the lab, and real-world clinical experience. The type of exposure I received during my clinical experience included performing a variety of exams from abdominal to transcranial dopplers and assisting in vein closure surgeries.

You were doing the written part but to have hands on was the best part it all came together and made sense. We took turns in the wheelchair and the stand up lift to get the feeling that the residents would feel which was a little scary. So this made us understand why the residents would be hesitant about the lifts and wheelchair.

Very tough and everyone didn't make it through the training or the exam.

The class was a good combination of classroom, Practical Application exams and tough Pass/Fail Objectives. All my instructors were previous or active command, The physical fitness portion of the academy was the toughest. The instructors always made the practical objectives very realistic. Most of the my classmates are still Policeman and Policewomen.
