Training to become a medical assistant is one of the best decisions of my life. It has improved my life in so many way. Learning the different job skills, it made me realize how important education is. For training, we sat in a classroom for half of the class period and learned from the book or presentations, the other half of the time we spent time in the lab room working on phlebotomy and how to take vitals.

Good hands-on training and assistance in job seeking/opportunities. The hardest part is to make yourself go to class. I learned to be responsible, caring, problem solver and a self motivator.

Cons

Don't pick this college.

I paid over 15,000$ for tuition, books, scrubs, 2 college shirts, internship, labs, and lab coat/blood pressure cuff/stethoscope. I never seen any money period and I was told I had to get loans with my federal Pell grant or I wouldn't be able to enroll, I did not get my diploma till this year 2019 and I graduated from Platt College in October 2015, I received no transcript until this year and I had to purchase them. The teachers changed several times, college dean changed twice, and the teaching was a joke. I have learned more and the correct was being in the field as a medical assistant for the past 4 years then I learned in college those 11 months for 15,000$.

Flexible class hours, Affordable

Cons

Each subject/course was taught in only two short weeks or less. More time should be spent on every course.

Other comments

Some of the teachers were thorough, detail oriented with each subject, caring toward our education and always came up with new ways to help learn the material.

It was a good school. I learned how to cook different types of food I loved my teachers. What I liked best was that I was able to do what I loved to do while a degree.
