The Graphic Design program at Portland State University provided students with access to visual communications professionals in the area. Class assignments and critiques were frequently augmented with field trips and guest lectures from experts in the industry. In my Junior year at PSU, I was hired by a graphic design professor as a production artist in his downtown Portland studio.
