Pros

Good teachers, Affordable, Positive environment, Good career preparation, Hands-on training

Cons

I had to work the midnight shift while attending college. Days could be extremely long even though my family and friends gave me the care and loving support?

Other comments

Stark State is an excellent college to attend. I learned a lot from my professors. The hands on at the clinical sites allowed me to gain experience while caring for patients. The professors and clinical instructors were easy to approach with any questions or concerns. The nursing instructors were all registered nurses and gave me and the other students a wealth of information from their own personal experiences. This helped make me aware that getting my degree could actually be obtainable.

Great learning environment, hands on, knowledgeable teacher. The teacher started with how the electric is coming from the plant to your house, worked with the understanding of the Pharrell circuit and a series circuit works and how it’s applied, also the understanding of how a transformer is used.

Pros

Good teachers, Affordable, Positive environment, Good career preparation, Hands-on training

Cons

lack of organization, lots of self teaching.

Other comments

We had to do a lot of the teaching ourselves they taught a flipped classroom, so it was really difficult but in the end it we benefited from it. Self teaching teaches lots of self discipline which is necessary in the nursing field.

Pros

Good teachers, Affordable, Good career preparation, Hands-on training

Cons

Long class hours, making it hard to work in the program.

Other comments

I had excellent training for professors who were licensed in the field and knew what would be expected once a graduate. The course work was fast and grueling, sometimes hard to keep up and stay on top of it. I was able to have many hour of lab and hand on practice to prepare me for clinical and my future jobs.

High stress program. A student must be able to devote much time and effort and be able to perform under stress.

Good balance of classroom learning and hands on training. Challenging curriculum with written testing on the musculoskeletal system and other body systems etc. along with practical competency training and testing which proved to be highly stressful for me personally.

174.60 a credit hour. The tuition is low, the classes are small, teachers are great. It's a great place to go to further your education. I like how they try to work with if you have kids or you are working full time or part time.
