I would recommend anyone in the Tobacco & alcohol industry get the certification. Although it’s a Texas state law to have the certification before being able to sell tobacco or alcohol, it teaches you the do’s & don’ts for the industry.

It was a very fast and efficient way to get the training I needed for the position I was applying for and it’s good for 2 years! Sometimes employers will pay for this type of training as well as your food handlers certification depending on the employer. It can’t hurt to ask right. Also some websites that offer both TABC/Food handlers certification will also offer a package deal if both are required for the position you are seeking.

Able to do the course in the comfort of your own home and your own pace. I learned many things such as what signs to look for to know if a person is already or getting intoxicated. How a person's blood alcohol volume continues to rise up to an hour and a half after a person has already stopped drinking. The most enjoyable part about this course is all the valuable information it taught me which makes me confident when doing my job.
