I would suggest you get some automotive experience before taking the diesel engine test and some heavy truck repair experience before you sign up for the test if you fail it still cost and you have to wait for a 6 months to take it again but do get a copy of the ass guide to study first before you go to take the test it makes it a lot easier with the practice test book and has the right answers to the questions in the back do the best you can but don't cheat if you get a question and answer it wrong study the book more you will not have the book during the test.
