My program offered me the flexibility to work and go to school. I was well prepared for my job as NP. Unlike other programs, I had the opportunity of taking classes with medical students which enhanced my learning also I did not have to look for my own practice sites. This was done by the school which was very helpful

Pros

Affordable

Cons

Exposed to disease

Other comments

Trained in all labs of a hospital, rotating 1 lab every couple weeks, learning different sub specialties of pathology: chem, hem, micro, urinalysis, blood bank, from lab techs and doctors. The training culture was good with other similarly motivated adults but the study at night or work at night made it tiring. The most enjoyable part was learning which helped others.

I learned how to work in a diverts society, how to build relationship with the clients and the medical practice. Motivational interviewing is the key to success in this field.
