Pros

Good teachers, Affordable, Helpful career services, Positive environment, Good career preparation, Hands-on training

Cons

There are a limited number of training fellowships - I was fortunate to be accepted to an exceptional one.

Other comments

There is variation to the "typical day" because of the cross-multidisciplinary nature of the genetics/genomics practice. Training includes the underlying science, practice, business principles, regulatory issues, and patient care issues; all of which include direct participation. The experience certainly is challenging and takes a significant commitment - this is both the hardest and most enjoyable part.
