Western Governors University (WGU) is extremely flexible, affordable, and all the staff I've worked with have been wonderful. I loved their BS program so much, I decided to change course and pursue a graduate degree through them as well. Much of the coursework has been helpful and very applicable to my current job and career course. I would definitely recommend any of their programs to people who work full-time, have a family and/or other obligations, and need the flexibility to complete everything online, combined with support necessary to be successful.

Loved my experience and that I was able to achieve my BSN on my schedule. I also appreciated the fact that I could add more units per semester and still pay the same flat rate. I would do it again if given the opportunity, a great school!

It is a self-paced objective based learning graduate level program. This worked well with my schedule. I obtained a MBA and a MSML degree from this institution. It is recommended that degree candidates spend at least 20 hours per week dedicated to learning. The instructors are extremely accessible and are willing to assist beyond any college staff I have encountered.

This cert was in association with a class as part of a degree program. The classes let you test out if you already knew the info, so you could progress much faster.

Cons

long hours

Reading the office ECES book, watching the videos from ITPro TV, practicing the lab, and using the cryptool to practice how the varies encryption algorithms work. My favorite part of my training was using the Cryptool because it made me understand how the encryption actually worked. If I didn't understand anything I will call the number that belong to the course instructor group and someone will answer whatever question(s) I had.

This certification was required as part of my bachelors degree earned from Western Governors University. I highly recommend WGU to anyone serious about putting in the time and effort to learn relevant skills to advance your career. Understand the programs are very tough but the support from professors and mentors is fantastic.

“There is a ton of material to cover. There is usually a specific section everyone dislikes (personal preference) I suggest spending extra time on the section you dislike because it is easy to learn things you enjoy and hard to learn things you do not. For me this was printers, which my test had a lot of questions on.”
