Hawaii Food Handler Requirements
The state of Hawaii offers free food handler classes to all professionals who work with food. Those who complete the class earn a state food handlers certificate that is valid for 3 years. Information about the classes can be found through the State of Hawaii Department of Health.1
Additionally, state law requires that there is a Certified Food Protection Manager working at all times during operating hours. The CFPM must earn their certification through an ANSI course.
