Iowa Food Handler Requirements

All Iowa food service establishments must have one supervisory employee who has earned the Certified Food Protection Manager designation through an ANSI-accredited training program. Additionally, all food service establishments must have a person in charge during all hours of operation who can demonstrate competency in food safety by providing CFPM certification, answering any food safety questions posed by a health inspector or demonstrating that there are no food safety violations in the establishment under their supervision.1
