Nebraska Food Handler Requirements

The Nebraska Food Code requires food service establishments to employ a person in charge who can demonstrate their knowledge of food safety and the prevention of foodborne illnesses upon request from a local health department. The person in charge can prove their knowledge by being a Certified Food Protection Manager certified by an accredited body, having no current or previous food violations and by answering food safety questions posed by a health inspector.1
