Oklahoma Food Handler Requirements
In Oklahoma, every food service establishment must have a person in charge who can demonstrate their knowledge of food safety and the prevention of foodborne illnesses. Food safety competency can be demonstrated with the Certified Food Protection Manager designation, a lack of current or previous health violations and the ability to answer a health inspector’s questions regarding food safety, foodborne illnesses and proper food handling.
Many Oklahoma county health departments also require all food service employees to earn their Food Handlers Cards.1
