Not a good place to be
Service Desk Technician (Former Employee) –  Blacksburg, VAJune 14, 2018
Very high stress, service desk is NOT well organized. Alot of talent has left (and continues to leave) the building. Outsourcing company that doesn't prepare well for incoming contracts. I'm looking to get out in a big way.

Only apply here if you are truly desperate. Very high turnover due to stress and management.
Pros
Free lunch every other Friday
Cons
Micromanaged, constant stress, irate clients, lsck of preparation

Not a great Place to Work
Internal IT Manager - Network Analyst (Former Employee) –  Blacksburg, VAJanuary 9, 2018
Not a great place to work. Management was terrible. If you don't kiss butt on a daily basis they fire you. Watched many leave because they we not "on the inside" group.

Was there for a short time
Senior Systems Engineer (Former Employee) –  Washington City, DCSeptember 22, 2017
I got moved around twice because of government contracts were always fluctuating. I was later laid off because there was not enough funding and nothing available to transfer to. It was short lived but they're overall a good company to work with. Just would like to be more informed if there's a contract change earlier on so it wouldn't send me for a loop.

Very relaxed with varied work load
Help Desk Technician (Current Employee) –  Washington, DCMay 1, 2017
Never really pushes you to achieve more but will always assist in certifications and college. Work load really varies but is always laid back, sometimes too laid back.

Good company to work for
Sr. Network Engineer (Contractor) (Current Employee) –  Reston, VASeptember 4, 2015
Worked with a very great engineers on the contract for OIG/HHS; but the contract ended as of 9/30/2015. A typical day involved monitoring network and troubleshooting outages in one of 11 regions nationwide of client’s routers and switches, mainly Cisco ASR 1000 Series Aggregation, Cisco Catalyst 6500 series Enterprise WAN, Cisco 3750X-48 stackwise and Cisco Catalyst 4507R Series switches. Working with other engineers doing modifications/upgrade on the DNS server, VMware, Office 365, and Active Directory - Directory Services. The primary tools used are TACACS (SecureACS); Solarwinds to monitor and analysis WAN network performance and SecureCRT to access routers/switches. Notepad ++ as a tool for documentation and macro scripts. Ensure that the LAN network, including verifying circuit continuity via circuit tracer and probe, is fully functional for the entire division of OIG; Utilize Wireshark and for any packet analysis testing. If necessary, work with the CCIE Network Engineers to resolve any complex issue.
