Mold Maker (Former Employee) - Vicksburg, MI - October 3, 2018
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedStick to yourself and put in the overtime. 80% of the guys that work at a&o are great guys and easy to work with. There are 2 that are father and son that will be problems for you to get jobs thru their department
But if you can tolerate their games all will be ok. You just need to learn to drink to kool aide. The Northup family is a good family to work for and has always treated their employees too well, to the point that they are taken advantage of.

Fun Place to work at Times
Mold Maker (Former Employee) - Vicksburg, MI - May 17, 2017
Poor communication between floor and managment. Wages are on the low side. Learned many things in the trader. Benifits and free lunches on fridays were a plus

Privately owned and thing are run by whim
Tool Design Engineer (Former Employee) - Vicksburg, MI - October 27, 2013
They are a tight family feeling company but if you don't fit your won't be happy there. Need to be a true conservative in view point. Private political and religious opinions are often voiced loudly here.
Hardest part is business decisions are made on whim and not always well thought out. Own easily frustrated and a lack of technical talent is a problem. But owner and personally do know how to do what they do well, just struggle with advancement made in the field.
There is little to no mentoring talent available to bring new people up to speed and they have a hard time bringing in experienced talent. Mostly because of the lack of anyone to help train people in this companies processes, little to no documentation of processes and again many things done very old school. Added with possible uncomfortable work environment if you don't see eye to eye with everyone else.
There is always lots of overtime
Pros
If you fit, it is a very nice close family like enviroment and people help each other out.
Cons
lack organization and experienced trained personnel, owner temper
