Great place to learn and work in a call center setting
Roadside Assistance Counselor, Full Time (Former Employee) –  Lexington, KY 40509January 12, 2019
This is a great place to work for any associate wanting to learn how things work in a call center. A typical day at work will have you working to assist members with their roadside assistance concerns. I learned how to talk to people over the phone, how to handle things with even better tact, and to search for solutions. Management and supervisors are very supportive, and will give feedback to you as needed, both positive and negative. The hardest part of the job is that sometimes, especially when it is busy, you can feel a bit worn out from the amount of work that happens, as it happens constantly, for you are interacting with people that are in stressful situations. The most enjoyable part of the job is when you really feel like you help someone. It feels great!
Pros
great management, supportive co-workers, very little idle time
Cons
feelings of overwhelment

Battery Installer/Driver (Current Employee) –  Baltimore County, MDDecember 2, 2018
Working at AAA is a learn as you go type of job. Experience will be your most informative and lasting training. Even if you are not a car expert, you will learn so much from/through your every day experience.

Fast Paced, Great Benefits, Good Pay. Expects a lot of you.
Office Manager/District Quality Expert (Current Employee) –  PennsylvaniaNovember 23, 2018
Fast Paced and Good Pay. Low work/life balance for management. Often tasked to work from home or on days off. Long days as well, most shifts from 7a-5p, or 9a-7p.

Terrible! People leave in droves
Dispatcher (Former Employee) –  DelewareNovember 20, 2018
The pay is good, but the job is terrible! It was miserable! You work 10 hour shifts!- and from the time you start until you stop, the phone does not stop ringing! You will literally have to log out after each call to notate properly! Dispatching is stressful- and the moral on the floor is terrible! There are no prizes, giveaways, nothing! There are no where near enough shops and drivers to help customers. You will find yourself on every call, apologizing for the customer having to wait 5-7 hours for a small call such as a tire change, fuel, etc. We receive a free membership for working for the company, but seeing the wait times and the craziness of it all. No one at the company probably uses it! Lol! Every one in my training class left within 3 weeks on the floor. That says A TON!
Pros
Nothing

Too many to name

Consultant (Former Employee) –  Wilmington, DENovember 13, 2018
"Don't ask. Don't tell." should be the motto. If you can adhere to that, you will find yourself surviving. However, financial growth is slow if you want to make good money. The best perk is the free AAA membership. They offer tuition reimbursement but, is very peculiar to who they will support educationally, often there's a lack of funding. Lack of support for career growth,no work mentorship programs. Only six paid holidays. Very minimal employee morale/engagement activities.
Pros
free AAA membership
Cons
Slow financial growth opportunities.

Dont expect to be promoted or appreciated
Dispatcher/Customer Service (Current Employee) –  Hamilton, NJNovember 8, 2018
As far as companies go, you will find worse ones to work at then AAA. If you have an issue with being screamed at 10-20 times a day, having no realistic chance for advancement, and having inadequate resources to do your job, then apply elsewhere. That being said the benefits and 401k are better then most. The culture and moral, along with the middle management is abysmal. The turnover rate has skyrocketed over the last 2 years and the managers are inept, petty, spiteful, and incompetent. You will meet some good people, but it is a dead end job that will eventually have you hungrily staring at oncoming traffic.

I would have thought that after 15 years I would have counted on staying till retirement, but there were changes in management that didn't respect years served. The performance was questioned and security was removed due to competition.
Pros
Enjoyable Customer Service

Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) –  Newark, DESeptember 21, 2018
Even though it was a fast paced job it still had a relaxing atmosphere. Everyone was very pleasant and helpful. AAA has a lot of incentives and they do a lot of competitive games and competitions for prizes (TVs, giftcards and time off) and money. Very pleasant and fun place to work.

Bland company
Associate (Former Employee) –  Alexandria, VASeptember 21, 2018
Slow paced to nearly no career advancement within the company. If you want to excel in other areas , you have to remain within the company for years. The pay is low, considering the amount of work and high expectations your role consists of. Training is inconsistent and takes a long time to complete depending on when you are hired. Overall, it’s not worth sitting at a desk for 8hours.
Pros
Free parking garage
Cons
Low pay, overloaded roadside calls, poor management

I love my job, co-workers and my manager. She gives us the freedom to do our jobs and is available at anytime day or night. I have the ability to work remotely when needed and during inclement weather. I've also been promoted twice in 5 years. The company is stable and it's all about what you put into your career. AAA is a great place to work!
