Tow Truck Driver (Former Employee) –  DeWitt, NYJune 24, 2018
Most management and supervisors aren't licensed to run the trucks. If they are, they're on medical restriction. That is, if the trucks actually work. However, they'll tell you how they can personally meet the insane demand for production. When you address concerns they become concerned with how and when they're firing you. A minute late? You're tardy. Sick with pneumonia? You're absent, it takes three months to roll back. Got a doctors note? Nobody cares, they don't accept them.

terrible place to work
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) –  Amherst, NYApril 5, 2018
Management doesnt give benefit of policies to everyone. The classroom training is great but there is very little support out on the floor. Some supervisors pick and choose who they help when someone has a question.

starting pay

Horrible survey driven begging
Service Advisor (Former Employee) –  Williamsville, NYMarch 15, 2018
Worst experience service manager has no clue except how to manipulate surveys which seem to drive the entire Dept. No direction and the customers rule and will tell you how it goes .

Working in a call center is an adjustment, but once you get into the swing of things its great. Sometimes its very busy and other times its not, depends on demand.

Management switcharoo
They don’t keep leadership in place long enough to effectively implement a decent plan. They focus on all the wrong things (giving rides at bicycle races) and forget that people join for road service. The other stuff is cute but it shouldn’t get in the way of providing road service. There should not be a garage full of unused tow trucks when people are waiting hours for service on a nice day.
They have been taking away from the employees bit by bit... once offering generous PTO packages and now one of the worst. You get nothing for a year, and then only one week.
I watched them go from non-profit to money hungry and it was a sad transition.

Good People to Work With
Membership Sales Representative/MCC (Former Employee) –  Amherst, NYFebruary 4, 2018
The people in the Member Contact Center were awesome to work with. Workplace culture was good. Shift bids weren't that great though. However, if you do your job, you will prosper.
Pros
Health Insurance, 401k and profit sharing
Cons
Shift Bids, a lot of quotas to meet.

An exciting place to work and genuinely help people
Travel Sales Consultant-Domestic (Current Employee) –  Syracuse, NYJanuary 12, 2018
On a typical day our branch location sees on average 120 people. We are a full service travel and insurance agency. We also process AAA Memberships and have the capability to place road service calls for our members as well. We have a travel store with every travel accessory you could ever think of. Management is amazing and always willing to step in and help when needed. Almost everyone in the office has been employed with AAA for 5 or more years so lots of knowledge and expertise helps to make the day to day operations effortless. Everyone in the office has become like family and I look forward to coming to work each day.

Depending on time of year or time of day. It can be very busy. The managers were very helpful. If the did not have a answer for an immediate problem. The would do everything in their power to find and answer.
Pros
Benefits. Good conversation between calls. potluck food days

Management had no idea what they are doing. They do not care about their employees.
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) –  Amherst, NYSeptember 16, 2017
AAA does not care about their employees. If you don't believe apply for a job there get hired and you will see. They give absolutely no training. If you were applying for an insurance job you will get training on how to sell membership and there is absolutely no training for insurance. They throw you at a desk and then you're on your own.
Pros
Close to home
Cons
Short lunch

Unbalanced
Contact Center (Former Employee) –  Williamsville, NYAugust 28, 2017
They "pride" themselves on their culture yet their leadership actions don't support it. This place is going no where fast. They keep coming up with new ideas yet they are what they are and it's becoming very old school.
Pros
Free membership
Cons
HR has lost focus with some recent losses, leadership is lacking direction and focus, less concern about pay then painting garage floors or sprinkler systems.

Disregard for Employees
Administrative Assistant (Former Employee) –  Buffalo, NYApril 12, 2017
I worked for this organization for years and enjoyed what I did and the people I worked with. It becomes very clear after seeing people come and go that the company feels anyone is dispensable or replaceable. Loyalty is not appreciated or returned.

Many things are done because "that's the way it's always been done". The same problems reappear year after year.

It's a good place to get experience but not good for security.

As much as customer service is instilled into associates, the driving force of the company is profit, not people, not their own and not the people who pay for their memberships.
Pros
They're always hiring
Cons
They pretend they care but they really don't.

Educational, Rewarding
Driver Improvement Instructor (Former Employee) –  Liverpool, NYJune 26, 2016
Defensive driving for all age drivers in a classroom setting, using books and videos. learned a lot about driving from other individuals and a lot about traffic laws and driving safety. Learned how to talk in front of larger groups of people 10-30 people. Co workers in the department were always willing to help when needed but was more an individual. The most enjoyable part of the job was sharing my knowledge of safe driving and traffic laws with others.
Pros
Educational, Rewarding
