it was a very nice place to work at in the membership department it's very repetitive but fun and the insurance department was more stressful as you are dealing with a lot more than a roadside membership .

no work life balance, minimum pay per hr worked, high stress even when exceeding sales goals. management
Direct Sales Agent (Current Employee) –  Costa Mesa, CAJanuary 29, 2019
management expects you to stay late every night for example clock in at 8am and stay till 8 or 9pm each night. especially if you were behind pace but even if on pace they wanted you to stay late to help make up the difference for the team members who are behind.

This is a call center however the inbound calls have become far less frequent, not the job is more about making outbound calls to internet quotes.

Mondays half the time you are there is spent making changes to existing policies at the request of the policy holders. no commission made during this time.

They will sell you the dream career, tell u how u can transfer easily and make so much money. Not the case! If you are not a high “numbers” producer they continue to threaten to let u go.. if u hitting above and beyond u get away with anything. If u want to transfer, good luck, u have about 300 ppl trying for the same position, and they do not go off seniority it’s based off numbers.

Poor Management
Retention Specialist (Current Employee) –  Costa Mesa, CAAugust 30, 2018
Management do not have care for top performers, they prefer agents who are constantly complainig over ignorant stuff, favoritism is huge here. It should be about performance and seniority. Supervisors lack on taking complaint calls they prefer for insureds to hold for hours then for them to take the call. Very poor service.

Policy Management Specialist (Current Employee) –  Costa Mesa, CAAugust 3, 2018
They train very well and will give you all of your necessary tools. The only downfall is they are not willing to accommodate your schedule if you don't meet your monthly referral goals. I currently work 12:15pm-9pm and I plan on going back to school and taking night classes but since my referrals aren't the best they can only offer a shift change for an hour earlier which is unacceptable and subpar.
Pros
There are free lunches on certain days
Cons
Pay should be a little better

Hotel Inspector
Field Inspector (Former Employee) –  Costa Mesa, CAMay 7, 2018
review the list of AAA approved listing from the previous year. Over 1400 approve listing per year. Decide what city and listing to inspect. Drive to locations and meet with hotel staff. Inspect locations to see if the property still meets AAA standards. both for cleanliness and design. Meet with management to go over results. Then submit the results to AAA management to be published.
Pros
Travel is paid for.

Long hours/days away from home

Bad Work Environment
Direct Sales Insurance Agent (Current Employee) –  Costa Mesa, CAOctober 12, 2017
Very hostile and stressful environment. Impossible to have a work and family balance. Very high number driven and there is no room for any life alternating changes, for example: death in the family you are reprimanded for missing work and not hitting goal while grieving.Lots of favoritism on the sales floor and no solid guidance from any manager. Vulgar language and sexually offensive language is used on a daily basis, sometimes potential customers can hear the talk among the employees.

Too slow of a work place. If there was no calls coming in then there was not much to do until a call came in. I like working in a face past environment that keeps the day flowing.

I have never been micro managed like this in my whole life. I give management a big fat 0. My co-workers were great, I loved the job I was supposed to do, but management would throw rocks in your way of doing your job well. Too many contradictions on their expectation.
