Hope you’re family
General (Former Employee) –  Houston, TXJanuary 16, 2019
Worked at the Houston, Texas location, and wow was I cornholed. It was nice to do everyone elses work, while favortism ran rampant. Poor management, unless you’re related to the higher ups, then it doesn’t matter if you do your job at all, then you get a complete free pass. If you work your butt off, you ‘ll be the constant private joke of the family/favortism circle jerk of the 40 year old cool kids . Amazing work ethic? That’s even more for management and family to make fun of you to the point of harassment, I thought it was odd to work hard for my family and my employer and be ridiculed, but apparently the winners that have me correct any and everything they made mistakes on, seem to think it’s ok. Maybe less tv time and gossiping would correct the lack of focusing on their work.
Pros
Overtime

Pay, unknowledgeable management, poor tooling

The most stressful place I've ever worked.
Sr. Embedded Software Engineer (Former Employee) –  Austin, TexasAugust 16, 2018
Great bunch of engineers, but a very stressful environment. It makes no difference how good you may be at your job, how productive you are, you are apt to get fired for a bogus reason after you complete a project and there is a slight lull in requirements.
Pros
Excellent pay
Cons
Very poor moral among the team

Senior HW Test Engineer (Former Employee) –  Huntsville, ALMay 1, 2018
Great people, but very poor management!
One minute you are "on top", the next minute you are being let go!
I am *NOT* joking... I literally worked with a fellow employee until midnight on a critical project the night before we were both terminated!
I don't blame my boss. This was a problem brewing from the very top for quite some time.

I actually wish the company well. I hope they make it. There are some GREAT people there.
Pros
Freedom to do your work
Cons
No job security.

System migration to a different SAP was a disaster. Management was mediocre. Training was meager. Campus was nice with a sweet little disc golf course. Culture needed a 180.

There is always plenty to do. Balance is key when working at Abaco. Collaboration is encouraged, but there is no consequences to those that are not team players.
Pros
Healthcare and Retirement plan is competitive.

Employee (Former Employee) –  Huntsville, ALJanuary 28, 2018
Bad environment, failing business. They seem to be struggling with a direction and not sure what their business is. From an employee standpoint there has been no training and no direction from management of what the future is. Constant lay offs and management change over, this is not a thriving business.

Abaco went down hill and quick
Customer Support Professional & RMA Specialist (Former Employee) –  Huntsville, ALJanuary 10, 2018
Abaco purchased the division from GE Intelligent Platforms division. After getting off all of GE platforms went downhill very quickly. Poor management at the top. Did not solve any production or customer based issues.

Program Manager (Current Employee) –  Huntsville, ALDecember 19, 2017
Abaco is a "start up" that is finding its way. There are many challenges and many opportunities for self motivators to stay busy. New management is working to improve work/life balance in the high paced environment. The benefits are good and the salary is very competitive.
