HR Manager in Ashburn, VA

Working retail in general is a difficult and often unrewarding field. Managing an A&F - and finding room for advancement - means that you have to learn to play their unique brand of politics. However, for the hours that you put in the benefits are not worth it. Silver lining: other retail chains do value the A&F MIT training program as prior experience.

Fun place to work. Great staff. Work life balance was good until CEO fired and change of structure. Strict appearance rules - no nail polish, natural hair, no makeup.

The managers here were caring, understanding, and fun. However, sometimes other workers would be lazy and make work hard on busy weekends. The weekdays were very slow and the weekends were always busy. Customers were nice for the most part, but I dealt with impatient and rude ones often. Environment could get very stressful due to the pressure before big store visits. Overall a decent first job, but not a long term position unless you want to work retail forever.

Fast paced environment, most managers were supportive, low hourly pay. Most people are nice and helpful. Can be very stressful during busy times. Good employee discounts.

Hate that it was an on call job. Always folding clothes. Time goes by slowly working there. Okay discounts with super poor pay. Okay job for high school/college students.
