Management was horrible. They passed off their tasks to associates even though it was their responsibility. They wrote you up for the smallest things even if procedures were followed
I applied online via Wrkin and the assistant manager got back to me within a week or two asking me to apply again on the A&F website, then to call the store right after to set up an interview.
Group/solo interview with store manager. Easy questions, you have more of a chance if you are knowledgeable about fashion and trends
What would you suggest Abercrombie & Fitch management do to prevent others from leaving?
Focus more on developing those who want to be leaders. Many just want a job. Some want their leadership skills to be developed. Managers who create time to develop their staff are shown to get better results. If upper management was to acknowledge this and tell them these things maybe a better culture and appreciative staff will be seen performing on the job. It shouldn't be so hard knowing it will help the business.
Upselling, how you would respond to customers about certain situations, fashion questions
The environment and culture at A&F were great. The co-workers and management all got along and maintained professionalism.
What tips or advice would you give to someone interviewing at Abercrombie & Fitch?
Dress however you would like to since they're all about fashion, but keep it casual. Whatever it is you think they would sell, that's what you should wear (I was also told it's their dress code). Keep the makeup light and simple if that's what you're into. They're just trying to get to know you and get an understanding of your fashion knowledge/background.
Its not fast paced unless its during the holidays. Its normally a fun environment to work in.
